About us

A small centre, real attention

Alexunder Diving is a dive centre run by an active instructor of the International Diving Federation. We teach in small groups — every student gets genuine contact with the instructor, not a place in a queue.

We teach diving where we dive ourselves: in Polish lakes and flooded quarries, and seasonally on trips abroad. We treat low-visibility diving and dry suit diving as fundamentals, not as extras.

We teach the International Diving Federation system. International Diving Federation certifications are recognised internationally, and the programmes conform to the EN ISO 24801 and EN ISO 24802 standards.

Polish lakes can surprise you

Pike, wels catfish, crayfish and submerged structures. You do not have to fly far for a dive to be worth doing — you have to know where and how.

We dive in warm water too

Outside the lake season we organise trips to the Adriatic — clear water, rock walls, moray eels, seahorses and lionfish. Trips in Poland run all year round.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to be able to swim to start diving?

Yes. The Open Water Diver course requires swimming ability and a state of health that permits diving. You do not need to be a strong swimmer — being comfortable in water is enough.

What is the minimum age for a diving course?

The Open Water Diver course can be started from the age of 15. Younger divers can take Junior Open Water Diver from age 10 or Scuba Scout from age 8. Minors need written consent from a legal guardian.

Do I need a medical examination before a diving course?

A health declaration is completed before every course. If it indicates any contraindication — such as respiratory or cardiovascular conditions, epilepsy, diabetes or previous ear surgery — clearance from a diving medicine physician is required before training begins.

Is training available in English?

Yes. Courses at Alexunder Diving are taught in Polish and English by Aleksander Ćwikłowski, Master Diver Instructor.

Is an International Diving Federation certification recognised internationally?

Yes. The International Diving Federation runs training on every continent and its programmes comply with the EN ISO 24801 and EN ISO 24802 standards. Certification is issued as a numbered card plus an electronic version with lifetime access.

Do I need my own diving equipment?

No. A full set of basic equipment is provided for the duration of the course. Your own mask, snorkel and fins add to the comfort of diving but are not a condition of starting.

How long does the Open Water Diver course take?

The International Diving Federation programme defines the Open Water Diver course as 4 confined water dives and 6 open water dives, together with the theory and an exam. The number of days depends on the student's pace and the conditions — we set it individually.

Do I need a dry suit in Polish lakes?

For most of the year, yes. A dry suit lets you dive comfortably outside the summer season and extends bottom time. The Dry Suit Diver course takes 2 dives and can be combined with the entry-level course.
