Deep Diver

Advanced courses

Dives to 40 metres — with planning, gas reserves and an awareness of narcosis.

Depth changes the rules: gas runs out faster, nitrogen narcosis affects judgement, and the margin for error is smaller. Deep Diver teaches you to dive in that range deliberately rather than by feel.

We cover gas reserve planning, ascent procedures, safety stops, recognising narcosis in yourself and in your buddy, and handling problems at depth.

It is one of the two courses — with Rescue Diver — that most raise a diver’s self-sufficiency.
