Medical examinations
Taking part in training requires a state of health that allows you to dive. The health declaration includes a list of contraindications — if you tick any of them, you will need to consult a doctor of diving medicine (not your GP) before the course.
This covers, among other things, respiratory and circulatory conditions, epilepsy, diabetes, previous ear surgery and pregnancy. If in doubt, it is better to ask in advance than at the water’s edge.
